Zionsville Times, March 2, 1888: Crushed Under the Wheels: Henry K. Pendergast, carpenter residing at 275 River avenue, and employed in the I. D. & S. shops, while returning from his work last evening, shortly after 6 o'clock, attempted to step on the foot-board of a switch-engine, it being his custom to ride part of the way, and missing his footing, he was crushed under the wheels. The injured man was removed to the City Hospital, but he died while receiving surgical care. He was aged 29, and leaves a wife and two children. -Indianapolis News.

Probate Department: The will of Parmella J. Pendergast, probated yesterday, leaves her home property, at 1109 Central avenue, to her daughter, Delle Pendergast; $1,000  to her son, Albert Pendergast, to be held In trust for the daughter of her deceased son, E. Ferne Pendergast, until she Is twenty-five years old; $4,000 to her son, John Pendergast. and the residue of the estate is to be divided between her children to share alike. Albert G. Pendergast was appointed executor of the will and gave a bond of $200. [E. Ferne Pendergast is probably the daughter of Henry K.]
