Lawrence Died At His Home in Ladogo. (May 4, 1912) He had been totally blind for five years. Was Ladoga Photographer for many years Special to the Journal Ladoga. May 6. Saturday Evening at his home on north Washington street occurred the death of Theodore C. Lawrence of tuberculosis of the throat, after an illness of several months. He was born in Vevay, Ind., March 19, 1838. He died at the age of seventy-four years. He was married first to Mrs. Dunbar of Charleston, Ill., and to this union three (sic) children were born, two of whom survive; and to Arrizelle (sic) Adams, at Vevay, June 28, 1872. To them were born six children, two of whom are living, Mrs. Lela Dickey of Pueblo, Colorado, and Mrs. Mae Gottings of Decatur, Ill. Mrs. Lawrence died several years ago. He was later married to Mrs. Hattie Walton at Hubbell, Nebraska, Feb. 10, 1904, who survives him. He became a member of the Christian Church when quite a young man. He held a deaconship in the church for several years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Masons, K. of P. and G.A.R. The funeral will occur from the home Tuesday at 2:30 P.M. Rev. Newlin will conduct the service. Internment will be made in Ladoga cemetery. Mr. Lawrence came to Ladoga from Charleston, Ill., thirty-five years ago and established a photograph gallery, which he conducted until his eyes failed him about ten years ago, when he retired. Lawrence had six children by his first wife, Miss Mary Ellen Dunbar. Two survived him, Dunbar Sibley Lawrence of Peoria, Ill., and Charles A. Lawrence of Fallon, Nevada. He was married to Arabella Adams July 11, 1872 in Rising Sun, Ohio Co., IN according to marriage certificate. Lawrence - had been a citizen of Ladoga for 40 years. At his home in Ladoga, T.C. Lawrence died Saturday evening (May 4,1912)at a little after eight o'clock. He had been a sufferer for a number of years and had been blind for five years. Until the beginning of last winter he had been able to come up town occasionally and talk with His friends, but his wife (2cd) or one of his grandchildren had to accompany him. He was a photographer here for many years until failing health and sight compelled him to retire. Theodore Campbell Lawrence was born in Vevay, Ind. March 19, 1838 and was in his 75th year when he died. At the age of 16 years he moved his parents to Charleston, Ill. He was married to Arabella Adams at Vevay, Ind. in 1872 and came to Ladoga where he has since lived. Six children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy and two after they had reached manhood years, Willie Sept 12, 1905 and Guy August 15, 1906.
