Death again claims an early resident of Remington in the passing of Ammon Beasley, a former well known business man of this town.
-Died Sunday last at home of son Charles at Joliet, Ill, where he had gone some time ago. Last illness of short duration, though he had not been real well for a long time
-Funeral at Christian Church, Remington; buried Remington Cemetery beside his first wife
-b. Adair Co, KY 1 Dec 1849, d. 25 May 1930, age 80 years, 5 months and 25 days
-Mother died when he was very young and he was taken to Crawfordsville IN and made home with the George Jones family until manhood
-m. Martha J. Lawson, Sept. 24, 1874, 4 children: Minnie, Charles, Anna, and Lucy; Martha d. Oct. 1887
-Res of Remington for many years, having come here about 50 yrs ago. Was in bus. There when dau. Lucy died in 1910
-1902 m. Clara Bond and had one son Kermit Bond Beasley. She d. 1910
-to mourn children Mrs. Joseph Milner of Indianapolis, Mrs. Anna Henderson, Montgomery Ala; Charles S. of Joliet, Ill, and Kermit B. of Patterson, Ill. 12 grandchildren, 1 great.

A. Beasley Passes Away In Joliet, Ill. / Former Rensselaer Photographer Succumbs at Son's home Sunday Forenoon. Ammond Beasley, for a number of years an operator of a photograph gallery near the Washington street bridge, succumbed at the home of his son, Charles, in Joliet, Ill., Sunday morning after an extended illness. Mr. Beasley was almost eighty years of age. The deceased was a long a resident of Remington, where he followed the profession of a photographer. He located in Remington during his early married life. Mr. Beasley was married twice and both of his wives preceded him in death, the first one dying about forty years ago and the second about eighteen years ago. Mr. Beasley came to Rensselaer from Remington and continued to work as a photographer until a few years ago. He gave up Rensselaer as a place of residence three years ago and since that time he had lived with his children. Surviving are three children by the first marriage and one by the second marriage. The children are Mrs. Judge J.J. Milner of Indianapolis, Mrs. Anna Henderson of Alabama and Charles and Kermit of Joliet. The remains will arrive at the Griffith House in Remington today. The funeral services will be held from the Remington Christian church at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be made at Remington. The Knights of Pythias will have charge of the services.

Mrs. Beasley d. 22 Oct 1887. Beasley was Remington town trustee for 3 years and Sec. of the Remington Building and Loan Association for 3 years. Member of IOOF and State Grand Lodge; K of P. Staunch Democrat, member of Christian Church at Remington.

Beasley, at age 69, offered to run the Kiser Studio in Forrest’s absence. Forrest left Monticello in late August 1918 and reported for duty in New York in the development of aerial aviation film. A footnote on Ammon Beasley: He started studios in Reynolds, Rensselaer, Gary and Michigan City over his lifetime. In January 1919, Beasley, former proprietor of the Stilwell gallery in Reynolds, was put in charge of the Kiser Studio; later Beasley purchased a studio in Rensselaer. He gave up Rensselaer as a place of residence three years ago and since that time he had lived with his children.
