Special to the Indianapolis Journal. DUNKIRK, Ind., May 26.-Mrs. M. E. Eakin, proprietor of a photograph gaily, was assaulted at her place of business last night She returned to her gallery about 9 o'clock. .She was seized by two men, each wearing a mask. In the struggle she was struck several times with a blunt instrument, and on gaining her senses found herself wandering around near her residence. In a short time the gallery building was discovered on fire, but the flames were extinguished. Investigation this morning proves that its contents were thoroughly saturated with coal oil: that the insurance was $250, and this is the second attempt to burn it. Mrs. Eakin Is nearly prostrated, and it Is the theory of some that the object was to attract attention for the purpose of plundering other localities, while others think differently. The Insurance was on the contents only. OriginalWorkerType: Studio owner PersonSexTypeID: 2 PersonColorTypeID: PersonStudioLocationID: 7478
