Subject matter for Brooks Chapek and Brooks alone was area in and around Indiana Dunes and Waverly Beach. Possibly started own commercial real photo postcard business, later partnering with son Herbert after 1920. Listed in 1930 U. S. Federal Census in Chicago as a commercial photographer.
