March 13, 1926, age 56 worked for the J. T. Schaub Jewelry.; p. 201 William Andrew Fry d. April 11, 1919 at home of sister, Mrs. J. T. Schaub in Hope,  age 73.

Of Main and Mill sts in Hope He was a jewler and photographer and had his last jewelry store on the e side of the square. Many of the old pictures of Hope scenes were made by him on glass negs. In the 1910 Hope census Julius was 68 all NC, Clara A. 66 IN, NC, NC. Neverhad children. Clara was dau. Of Geo. Fry [detail about her family]. In 1880 Robert F. Hern 27 was a boarder in their home.  In the Hope Star-Journal of 20 July 1928 Julius T. Schaub, 86, in the jewelry and photography business in Hope for 64 years has sold his business. He came to Hope in 1864 from NC and had a store upstairs in the Rights building on the N side of the square. Later a store on the west side in the Weinland block. This frame building burned in 1870. in 1880 he bought the lot on the SW cor. Of the square from Martin Bruner and eracted a frame building now occupied by Dr. E. G. Regennas. [JEH-in 1994 the building was the Star-Journal, 311 ___. A small gable-front frame building covered with siding.] He conducted business here for 42 years. Sold to the doctor in 1922 and went to the E side of the square. (This building was occupied by Dr. Joe Dudding in the 1930s. The location is now a parking lot for Norman Funeral Home.

Julius Schaub had a jewlery store and a photographer's gallery at the SW corner. Before Mr. Schaub opened his gallery there was a man by the Keifer who made tintypes in an upstiars room on the north side of the square my first picture was taken by Keifer

Julius T. Schaub Dies of Injuries--Funeral Services Tuesday Morning
Summary: d. 6:30 Sunday morning at home in Hope from injuries suffered in fall while walking to  church the Sunday before. He broke a hip and had other injuries. Services to be held at 10am Tuesday at Moravian Church, burial in Moravian Cemetery. Born 22 Mar. 1842 in NC and came to Hope during Civil War. Operated jewelry store and photographic studio in Hope until about 15 years ago. Married Miss Clara Fry on 26 Nov. 1886, no children. Only surviving relative is nephew E. E. Kapp of NC. He had been living alone since wife's death, but the Charles Dixon family usually lived with him and cared for him during the winter months.
