May 2, 1911, p. 6 - Austin R. Goward, photographer 914 1/2 Main st., filed for divorce on Monday. He says he is hen-pecked since 1899 marriage. Mr. Goward went into a rage whenever he chatted with any woman who came into his studio to have her beauty copied. All night she would lay awake, he states, quareling and fussing. Night-long quarrels, he declares, have weakened his health until he is on verge of collapse. 
May 12, 1911, p. 5 - Mrs. Goward is suing her husband for divorce in Judge Ford's court and lists 10 towns in Ohio, NY, Illinois, and Wisconsin which they lived since their wedding day, July 31, 1895. She said "Mr. Goward is a literary man, he loafed about the city libraries and filled the house with books." Said he had the moving habit. While living in Buffalo, they moved 16 times.

Jun 13, 1911, p. 1 Goward divorce suit is on trail in Circuit court. Evidence on the complaint of Ausstin R. Goward, erstwhile preacher, now a photographer. Goward claims Mrs. Goward usurped his business and relegated him to the kitchen to do the house work. Both the wife and husband are not in competition in the picture taking business. 
June 14, 1911, p. 3 - Mrs. Mary Goward took witness stand supporting her cross-complaint for divorce from Austin Goward, former Baptist minister, now a photographer employed by E. J. Feay, Main st. She admitted that she met Goward while she was keeping boarding house on Division St. Denied that she had proposed to him or had ever attempted suicide.

Goward Gets Divorce - Austin R. Goward, 302 U. Second St, former Baptist preacher and now an active photographer, was granted a divorce from Mary Goward, 1202 Gum St, late Wed. afternoon in the Circuit court. Goward ordered to pay the costs of the suit. Mrs. Goward wanted a decree on cross-complaint.
