-Memory submitted by T. B. McDonald [probably Thomas B. McDonald, born circa 1847]: It has been said that one Thomas Barnhouse was the first person to take pictures in Fairmount. The only thing that we remember about Barnhouse was the house that he built just across the street from the present Interurban station.
-Memory submitted by J. M. Hundley of Summitville, Indiana on January 15, 1917: "Tom Barnhouse came about 1854, and was the first photographer."
