Looking Back: 25 Years Ago, From Daily Herald, Aug. 9, 1950 - John W. Hollowell, 82, of Birdseye, the oldest professional photographer in Dubois County, died at 8 p.m. yesterday in Stork Hospital in Huntingburg.

Obit of Amanda Hollowell, 94, of Birdseye. Preceded in death by her husband John Hollowell, daughter Mrs. Mae Williamson, and son Russell Hollowell. Born on Feb. 10, 1881 the daughter of John and Isabelle (Mullen) Knight. Burial in Gilmore Cemetery near Eckerty. [NOTE: This must be the wife of John M. Hollowell (1879-1853), son of Duke and Victoria Barmore Hollowell. He was the father of Mae Williamson and Russell Hollowell.]
