Wampler; includes image of obituary from O. C. Dem [Owen County Democrat]. Thurs, May 11, 1939: George Lincoln Wampler, age 74, retired Spencer photographer, died at 6:20 last Thursday at his home, S. Washington st, following a stoke last week. Been in failing health for the last year and only recently had sold his photography shop to Norman Fender. Born in Illinois, came to Owen county with parents as small boy. His father was engaged in business in Spencer and Wampler worked for his father and other merchants in Spencer until he was a young man. When about 20 he bacame interested in photography and began taking pictures in Spencer. He opened a photography shop and remained in the business for over  50 years. Member of First Baptist Church. Survivors are widow Nora, one sone Mark Wampler of Detroit, step-son John Williams of Spencer and sister Rose Sadler of Indianapolis.

Find A Grave 91036705 for Mark Wampler, 1895-1947, Undated obituary for Mark Wampler of Detroit, Michigan, states that he was born in Spencer, the only son of the late George L. Wampler, who was for many years a photogrpaher of Spencer. His mother was the late Miss Effie May Hopper.
