A new photograph gallery will soon be opened up in the rooms above Buchanan Bros. restaurant.

See low resolution photo of photographer with camera taken by Buchanan Brothers, Monroeville, Ind. [offered on eBay Feb. 2015; image sold for $204 but dealer sent me a high res image; Credit Richard Marks. ID'd by him as "This is a real photograph Cabinet Card taken by- Buchanan Brothers, Monroeville, Ind. (Indiana). The image shows a photographer with his camera on a tripod in the act of taking a picture. He holds the lens cap in one hand and the dark slide in the other. The bellows view camera has the ground glass panel lowered. The brass lens appears to have the aperture in front and it is stopped down quite a bit. Below the camera is a wooden box which perhaps holds the glass plates and maybe the camera also. The card appears to date to the 1870s or 80s so it could be a wet plate camera. It has a rising lens board and perhaps a tilting rear standard. The camera looks to be about a 5 x 8 inch format. I’m guessing he is one of the Buchanan Brothers. My stereoview photographers reference lists a Buchanan Brothers of Ashland, Ohio active in stereography in the 1870s."
