"C. A. Shubart, 76, Former Mayor, Taken by Death - d. Thursday at Elks National Home at Bedford VA resulting from fall two weeks ago in which he suffered a fractured hip. Mr. & Mrs. Shubart came to Princeton in 1898 from Canton, OH. As a photographer. He later established the Shubart studio which he personally operated until a few years ago when his health began to decline. Mrs. S. died June 1, 1943. [mentions lodges] on Jan. 28, 1919 he was appointed to fill unexpired mayor's term through Dec. 31, 1921. A niece, Mrs. Martha Heising, Canton, O, is the only survivor.

Tenth Anniversary. In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of C. A. Shubart's photographic business in Princeton, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Wright entertained Mr. and Mrs. Shubart at dinner Tuesday. Hon. M. W. Fields and A. F. Strain spiced the occasion by their presence and numerous anecdotes. [omitted generic text about photography]. C. A. Shubart ranks among the leading professional photographers of the country. He has been with us for 10 years and has made an honored name for himself and an upright citizen, a good business man and a skillful artist. We are glad to number Mr. and Mrs. Shubart among our permanent citizens and wish for them in years to come the success that their skill and high character so richly deserve.

C. A. Shubart attending the meeting of the State Association of Photographers, of which he is secretary. Returning he will "stop in Indianapolis and purchase a new and thoroughly up-to-date outfit for his photograph studio, which was burned out in the recent fire. Mr. Shubart will reopen soon for business upstairs in the Henneberger building, at Main and State streets, and will be located there for the present at least. While much of his splendidly equipped studio was lost in the fire, all of this will be replaced, and Mr. Shubart will again have one of the best photograph galleries in the state. The date of reopening will be announced within a few days."
