March 16, 1955, New Castle: one of oldest residents of Mooreland observed his 87th birthday last Friday. B. March 18, 1868 1 1/2 m. northwest of Harley Koontz farm. He was engaged in variety of occupations: picture gallery in Mooreland 1889-1896, sold this business and moved to the Springport community where he worked as miller and carpenter. In 1913 returned to old home place and began operating a feed mill in Mooreland. Business was good until his health failed and made it necessary for him to close the mill in 1939. Later fire leveled mill. Until 1954, Mr. Cory with his present wife Millie Seagraves, attended services at eh primitive Baptist Church at Mt. Summit.
