OriginalSource: November 1998: Information from Davied Engleking, husband of Kohlmann's granddaughter. He was a farmer who learned photography from a book and had a darkroom in the attic of his home. He did mainly outdoor portraits taken on his property, using a trellis as a background. He also had props such as backdrops and rugs. Davied has stacks of his glass negatives in his home in Batesville and has printed some of them (Engleking is a photographer). Other papers and photos of Kohlmann sold at an auction.
