My husband's great grandfather, John J. SCHLIESSMANN, was a photographer
and owned a photography shop in Manilla, Rush Co, IN. ...We also have quite a few photographs which he took, including some negatives on glass that he took of himself. His shop burned at some point and I don't believe he rebuilt the shop or continued this
profession...there is an article in a Rush Co history book (I don't know author
or yr published) that begins:  "The citizens of Manilla are to
congratulated upon having in their midst, a well equipped photographic
studio...."
