Daguerreotypes taken for 75 cents. Bryan's Car in South Bend. Since there has been so many false cries put in circulation about the great discoveries in the art, I contend that I have enough of them to make the best kind of pictures. All that I ask is one trial; I want the people to call and examine my specimens and stock they will not fail of getting good satisfaction. This car will remain in town until the 1st of Nov. and will sell good pictures for 75 cents. Please to give me a call before going elsewhere. Ass good pictures taken in stormy as in fair weather. George Sherwood, Daguerrean Artist. [copy longer ad Oct. 14, 1854, p. 2, col. 4--price was $1 per daguerreotype, gives location of wagon] [The "Bryan" listed may be S. W. Bryan, A daguerreian and ambrotypist in Kalamazoo, Mich. from 1852 to 1857, he apparently arrived there in September, 1852 and set up a photographic wagon. In the summer of 1854, he opened a gallery over Friedman's Clothing Store, in the Brick Block, opposite the Kalamazoo House. He sold the gallery to J. Stimpson in February, 1857. From Craig's Daguerreian Registry, information probably from Dave Tinder.] OriginalWorkerType: itinerant-wagon PersonSexTypeID: PersonColorTypeID: PersonStudioLocationID: 2210
