Those of public who are satisfied with common daguerreotypes and think that all photographs are alike no matter by whom made or with what quality of materials can doubtless obtain at their own prices pictures which will suit them from cars in the street or from other places where they pretend to make pictures. The discriminating portion of the public, who know that pictures made by a poor operator are a mere resemblance of their settees, while the daguerreotypes made by an experienced and competant operator are bold, characteristic likenesses, are invited to examine specimens at Prof. Alger's Room, as above. South Bend Oct. 14, 1854-59;tf [ad ran several weeks] [Probably same as: A. C. Alger, Listed with a daguerreian and ambrotype gallery, Backus Block, Canal Street, Grand Rapids, Mich., 1855-1856. From Craig's Daguerreian Registry--information probably from Dave Tinder] OriginalWorkerType: Itinerant photographer PersonSexTypeID: PersonColorTypeID: PersonStudioLocationID: 8076
