The family came to the United States about 1870 and settled in Onarga, Ill. Before 1873 they returned to Nova Scotia, remained about five years, and then removed again to the United States and settled at Argos, Ind. In 1889 they moved to Sterling, Kan. Jacob C. Mood was a builder and most of the years of his active life were devoted to erecting some of the better homes in and around Sterling.
