OriginalSource: [unnamed Lafayette newspaper], placed July 3, 1845: Portraits. Daguerreotype Miniatures. The Subscriber informs the Ladies and Gentleman of Lafayette and vicinity, that he has taken rooms in the Lafayette House for a few days, and having a first-rate Daguerreotype, he is prepared to furnish Miniatures with despatch and on reasonable terms. His miniatures are with natural colors, perfect fac-similes of the originals. The reflection of the countenance is thrown on a metalic plate, as on a mirror, and by this process it is finely and permanently engraved in the space of about one minute only.  By the extrordinary invention of the Daguerreotype, perfection of resemblance is obtained. These miniatures combine the advantages of exact likeness, durability, and cheapness. A favorable opportunity is now offered to procure the likenesses of "wife, children and friends." no present intended as a memento of friendship can be thought of, so suitable and acceptable as the exact likeness of the esteemed individual. Pictures and Portraits transferred, Buildings and favorite Residences taken, & c. Ladies and Gentlemen are invited to call and examine specimens for themselves. H. B. Price. July 3, '45. 50 tf
