Busey in Hutchings' Block, northwest corner Pennsylvania and Ohio streets, seems to be a long felt necessity, judging from the amount of patronage already given him. Those who want photographs for the holidays would do well to go at once. Mr. Busey comes from Baltimore, where he is connected with one of the largest photographic establishments in the world. A visit to his studio (where he has on exhibition specimens of his skill) will convince anyone of his superiority as a photographic artist. Indianapolis News (Indianapolis, Indiana), December 21, 1875, p. 1 Ad: Indianapolis has within the last few months secured a branch of a Baltimore establishment which has been to that city a matter of just pride -- the famous Busey Art Gallery. Baltimore knew a good thing when she got it, and by prompt and generous encouragement soon obtained a reputation through the Busey's for the best photographic art work all over the East. The branch that has been established in Indianapolis is intended to be in all respects equal to the parent house in Baltimore, having the same system of work, the same skill, and in fact everything necessary to produce here pictures which have made them famous there. The junior member of the house, Mr. T. H. Busey, has cast in his lot with Indianapolis. He is ambitious in his profession, and though possessing the accumulated experience of years, is still a student and explorer of untried realmsing art. While he maintains a relationship with the home establishment, exchanging new discoveries, Indianapolis will be faithfully credited with improvements springing from his gallery here, and we have no doubt will extend him a welcome support.
