Judkins Journal, "The Judkins Photographers," by Polly S. Weaver, Mar. and June 1991, p. 35: Sarah Ann Judkins was assistant housekeeper at Lawrence, MA boarding house run by her mother. One of the "operatives" (millhands) living there was Charles C. Wright, another Maine native. They m. in Nov. 1860 when she was 28 (although she gave 26 on m. cert.) and he was 21. Not known where they spent 1st ten yrs. of marriage or when they took up photography, but by 1870 they were in Lafayette, IN where Sarah was photographer and C. C. was "artist". Remained in IN until moving to Denver in early 1880s, opening studio in Denver followed by branches in Greeley and Central City, CO. C. C., the "boss photographer", spent time in each. C. C. probably d. about 1886 for he was no longer listed in cd's after that year. Sarah carried on Denver studio alone for awhile, eventually returned to Maine where she m. Ward S. Yeaton of Weld, ME. After his d. she moved to Salem Depot, NH to live with sister Julie (Judkins) Estes. Sarah d. there in 1909, buried in Bellevue Cem, Lawrence MA. She left no children.
