Richmond Palladium, Jan. 29, 1857, Friend Watson informs us that having taken instructions in Ambrotypist, from the most celebrated artists in the United States, he is prepared to give instructions in the art for the sum of Ten Dollars a head! He takes the genuine Daguerreotypes at his rooms over China Hall--Give him a call.
Richmond Palladium, Apr. 23, 1857, Daguerreian Stock--Operators who desire Stock can be supplied, at the lowest prices, at Watson's in this city; and persons desiring pictures can now be furnished with cases of almost any and every variety, as his stock is large and complete.
Richmond Palladium, May 21, 1857, If you wish to see something that is really nice, call at Watson's Daguerreian Gallery. He had taken pictures of members of several families and famillity connections, in one instance amounting to some fifteen pictures. They are worth a visit to his Gallery, to see them. Watson keeps up with all the improvements of the art. Call and see his specimens.
Richmond Palladium, May 28, 1857, Watson's Gallery has become very generally known as place where good pictures are uniformly made...no matter what kind of weather, so the light of day can be brought in contact with his chemicals is all that is required. We are indebted to him for a most perfect, full-sized likeness of the late and lamented Captain Henry J. Shombre, which we highly prize, not only for the correctness of the picture, but for the respect we cherish for the memory of the deceased.
Richmond Palladium, June 11, 1857, Watson, embracing every opportunity to improve in his art, is making Pictures of an entirely new style, and the specimens we have seen are really beautiful, having all the softness and the distinctness of the mezzotinto engraving. Persons wanting something new and far superior to the Daguerreotype of Ambrotype are invited to call and examine this new style. [NOTE: the room formerly occupied by China Hall became R. M.
