C. A. Shubart (with photo) b. Berks County, PA. In his years of young manhood he served his apprenticeship in photographers' studios. He came to Princeton in 1898 to manage the studio here that O. A. Harnish had purchased from William R. Wright. Two years later he bought the business from Harnish and since that time the Shubart studio has been a fixture in Princeton. [mentions his community spirit and activities].

Princeton Daily Clarion, Mar. 23, 1939, p. 8 - Kintner Purchases Shubart's Studio on Square Here - NE corner of the square. Kintner, it is understood, will continue C. A. Shubart's commercial and portrait work in the studio's present location. He graduated from Princeton HS in class of 1932 and is lifelong Gibson Co. resident. After receiving intensive training in all types of photography, he was associated with the Iowa Aerial Survey Co. of Des Moines, Iowa for several years as cameraman. Shubart, who has the distinction of being in business for himself longer than any other busines man around Princeton's square, will remain in the studio for a few weeks with Mr. Kintner. He will then retire from any active business enterprise. He has not been in good health for several months. Shbart came here in 1898, and set up his own studio in 1900. He took over the business conducted by Mr. and Mrs. William Wright and occupied the site now held by the Scull Furniture company until 1912, when a fire destroyed the building there then. He moved to his present location in March 1913. Shubart served as mayer of Princeton in 1920 and '21, filling the unexpired term of E. E. Noble, who died while in office.
