The Hamilton County Ledger, 11 Oct. 1898, p. 2 - C. C. Pike, who left this city about 18 months ago to est. a photograph gallery in Muncie, has been forced to close his place of business by creditors and he is now working on a salary in Marion. One of Mr. Pike's heaviest creditors is Elmer Thayer [his former appretice], of this city. His claims are secured by mortgages and he will lose but little on account of the failure. This information came as a surprise to Mr. Pike's many friends in Noblesville, who were under the impression that he was doing a profitable business. He did well while he was here and went to Muncie to increase his business.
