Heimberger Studio established 1859, at 31 W. Side State Street in 1860, 78 State Street in 1863-64, the last listing for the studio was in the 1916-16 directory. After that George Riddle took over the studio and it became Riddle Studio. From 1882 to 1916 the company was Heimberger and Son.

New Albany Ledger, Dec. 11, 1884, p. 4: "The Beautiful in Art: A Photograph Gallery Rivaling all Establishments in the West in Elegance and Fine Work" reporter had tour of new and elegant picture gallery, SE cor. Of Bank and Spring sts. Reception room on ground floor. 2nd floor occupied as the Operating Room, where the negatives are taken. Magnificent skylights, specially set in the dome and side of the building. An entirely new series of lenses, cameras, stands, backgrounds, draperies and other accessories have been introduced. Connected with this room is elegantly furnished dressing room. Adjoining is the manipulating department, consisting of printing, toning, finishing and negative store room. Reception room at night a scene of real beauty..lit with brilliant gas jets.
