Franzlau and his brother Harry O. Franzlau established the Franzlau Brothers studio at 112 1/2 North High Street ca. 1904. This was the address of the G.W. Stewart Photography Studio circa 1902. William Franzlau operated the business under the name Franzlau from ca. 1906 to ca. 1916. Franzlau later operated the Franzlau Photo Shop at Crawfordsville, Indiana from ca. 1925 to ca. 1935. Hartford City Telegram, July 3, 1906, p. 2 - William and Henry Franzlau will on next Monday assume charge of the Stewart photograph gallery, having leased the place of Mr. Stewart. William Franzlau has been with Mr. Stewart for some time and is a good man in his line. The brother, Harry, has been in the navy for 5 yrs., having been honorably discharged last December. He entered the service at the age of 15 and served until he was 21. During this time he made a tour of the wrold. He had a kodak with hime and took some fin pictures of all the countries he visited.
