"A New Photographer. Mr. A. J. Allison, of Noblesville, arrived in the city yesterday, and took charge of the Star Gallery, in the Neely Block, which he will operate in the future. Mr. Allison comes highly recommended as a perfect gentleman, and excellent photographer, and with his rooms newly fitted up with new carpets, paper, furniture and accessories, and an entire change of regime, there is no doubt but he will create a boom in the picture business. He will not only do first-class photograph work, but will also take orders for solar photos, India ink, water colors, pastelle and oil portraits, which will be executed in the highest style known to art. We feel perfectly secure in bespeaking for Mr. Allison a liberal patronage from our art loving people."

On the 1887 Nobleville Sanborn Map, sheet 2, the address for this building is 7-9-11 E. Conner St. It lists a photo gal. on the 2nd floor with a skylight toward the back of the middle section (9 E. Conner). A furniture store is on the 1st floor in 1887.

He desires to meet all his old friends and patrons, and others too. Call and see him as soon as he has opened his gallery."
