Has leased the front rooms of the 2nd floor, formerly occupied by Hart & Jackman, and is having an arch-way cut between them and his present quarters. He was born at Fort Wayne and learned his trade in that city. After spending several years at his home he left Fort Wayne and spent six years at the trade in Illinois and Missouri in some of the leading art studios. In 1889 he returned to Bluffton and conducted a gallery until four years ago when he located in this city. He purchased the gallery formerly owned C. W. Longdon, who now runs a studio in Chicago. This place was owned for many year by E. B. Radabaugh, who had the only studio in the city for twenty-one years. The business was well established and Mr. Clear had no trouble in taking Mr. Longdon's place and holding the trade. Every one who is acquainted with Mr. Clear knows his ability as a photographer and knows his friendly and accommodating qualities.
