B. Ingraham Dead; died last evening at his home, 505 Capitol Ave. Had been in ill health for years, but death due to old age. Born in Portland, ME in Sept. 1820 and his young manhood was spent in the dry goods business in that city and later in Milwaukee, Wis. He came to Indianapolis in 1864, and with the exception of two years spent in Florida, made this city his home from that time to his death. For several years he was engaged in the business of photographing, but for many years had no business pursuit because of illl health. He was for some time preceding his death engaged in missionary work about the city, taking part in services held at the jail and work-house. He was also specially interested in the Boys' Club. He was member of Christ (Episcopal) church, of which his brother, the Rev. J. P. T. Ingraham, now of St. Louis, was at one time rector. Another brother was the late Rev. Joseph Ingraham, who wrote books [mentioned in obit]. He leaves widow, Mrs. Ellen Ingraham, a well-known artist, and two daughters, Lena and Mary. The latter is an invalid, at present, living at Chautauqua, NY.
