First he'd seen him since brother left Goshen three years ago. He d. Sep. 1 at the Bridgewell [a nickname for jails], where he was being treated for delirium tremons, and the badoy had been in the vat since Sept. 4th. In another day would have gone to disecting room of the college. Body taken from vat and sent to Goshen for burial. George Brooks was photographer at Goshen, and several years ago run a photograph gallery in Bremen for a few months, but selling his gallery he returned to Goshen. Some months later he became enamored of a young lady, was accepted, and their wedding day was announced. One week before that day Brook's betrothed eloped with a drug clerk, whom she married. Brooks was a changed man from that day. He sold his gallery and left Goshen without telling his relatives where he was going. During the passt two years he has stood at a drinking fountain near an Art Institute in Chicago and unchecked horses as they were driven up for water. In this way he eked out a pittance for existance and the pennies he picked up went mostly for liquor.
