IHS owns largest known collection of his work, platinum prints mostly acquired through auctions and others who purchased them from George Rinhart.

The Strange and the Sublime: American Photography 1850-1920, curated by Charles Isaacs, Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, Bethlehem, PA, sept. 17-Nov. 22, 1989,  p. 24 3 photographs by John Chislett: Woodland Stream, Winter, Platinum print, 7 1/2 x 9 1/2, ca. 1900; Pond in the Fog, platinum print, 7 1/2 x 9 1/2, ca. 1900; Stream, Early Spring, platinum print, 7 1/2 x 9 1/2, ca. 1900; p. 2 Foreward states that the photographs were taken from the Isaacs' family collections. Charles Isaacs began collecting photos while he was a photojournalist, and in an international dealer in early photographic material.  Also mentions that Dr. & Mrs. C. T. Isaacs loaned photos. Chislett is not mentioned in the text of this 32-page booklet.

Note: In an attempt to discover if there was a connection between John Chislett and Mary Lyon Taylor, I asked Taylor's son Heber if he knew of Chislett. From his newspaper carrying days, he recalled the Chislett Flats on Talbott St. [1700 block?]. He didn't remember the Chislett family from La Jolla.
