Undated obituary for Jacob Simonton. The death of Jacob Simonton occurred at his home east of this city on Monday morning after a long sickness resulting from paralysis of his lower limbs and a complication of other diseases. Deceased was the son of John Simonton, formerly a well known citizen of this township and was afflicted from birth, being dwarfed. This, however, did not interfere with work in life and for many years he followed the business of a photographer. He was born on the old home farm where he died January 30, 1848, and was 57 years, 9 months, and 27 days old at time of his death. He was member of Christian church and was known as a good citizen and an upright man. Funeral took place Wed. afternoon at Pleasant Grove church. Leaved several brothers and other relatives to mourn his death.
