Hi Joan, My name is Robert Holloway, and the Photo that I won from you the other day is my Great Grandfathers work, his name is Jonathan Fremont Holloway, and his father John Holloway was a Captain in the Civil War, I have been collecting Jonathan's work for some time, I do not know how he got started in Photographing, but I do know that he lived in other towns here in Indiana doing Photograph work, the towns he lived in when he was doing this kind of work was Indianapolis, Zionsville, Brownsburg, and Deming, Deming was his last place he set up for Photographing, and that was a Dry goods store that he had got from his father in Law, Benjamin Franklin Holliday, Jonathan ran the Dry Goods Store, and did Photograph's in that store in Deming for 30 years before he died, Jonathan's oldest son, Harry F. Holloway was an aerial Photographer in world war one, if you ever run across any more of Jonathan's work, just put Holloway or Deming in your main Title of your Auctions, and I will find it, I have sent you an early Cabinet Photo of Jonathan Fremont Holloway, and his mark on the back of one of his later Matted Photo's, I believe Jonathan started doing Photographing in the 1880s, because I have found a lot of his Cabinet Photo's from Family, and I have a few my self, if you want to learn more about Jonathan, just let me know, or you can go to a web site called findagrave.com, all you have to do is put in Jonathan Fremont Holloway, and that he died in Indiana, and that will bring up his Find a Grave Page, I hope this all helps you, and You Have a Great Day Joan! "A Small Blaze." Described small fired nipped in the bud by fire department Tuesday morning. Discovered about on o'clock by Mr. Holloway, of the firm Woodruff & Holloway, photographers in the 3rd story of Fink-McClelland block on east Main street. Fire put out, but water damage to 1st & 2nd floors. Woodruff & Holloway's loss will be about $500 with no insurance. Building owned by Philip fink and Mrs. Dr. McClelland, damage also to Bappert's cigar factory and Mike Callahan.
