Kosciusko County Atlas (1879), p. 57: write-up on Bradford G. Cosgrove by Col. J. B. Dodge: birth and death dates and places; father was a carpenter; 
1815 - Born in Deckertown NJ [later named Sussex, in Sussex County]
1817 - family moved to New Carlisle, Clark Co., Ohio; lived there until age 16
1831-34 - learned trade of carriage building in Dayton OH
1834-36 - went with father's family to South Bend, engaged in his trade (carriage?)
1835-37 - went to Cincinnati to take instructions in architecture and draughting; fell from a 2nd story scaffold and had injuries from which he never fully recovered (stayed about 2 yrs.)
1838-43 - returned to South Bend and engaged with brother William in carpenter trade 
1841 - married Miss Mary Phelps of Souh Bend; in 1879 they had 5 children living, including A. P. of Warsaw who who served in Co. D, 44th IN vol. Inf.
1843-45 - took contract to build Kosciusko Co. Court House. His health had almost entirely failed at this time so that he was obliged to go into some other business
1847-51 - Moved to Newville, DeKalb Co.; went into merchantile business
1851 - sold out stock of goods and moved to Auburn; took contract for building jail
1853 -1875 Lived in Warsaw; followed business of architect and builder. Built: Cosgrove Block; Indiananian Bldg.; Centre School in Warsaw; Pierceton and North Manchester schools; member of Kos. Co. Lodge No. 62; Hackleman Encampment No. 37; IOOF; Warsaw Lodge No. 73, Free & Accepted Masons; no religious affiliation.
1864-68 County Recorder for 4 years
1875 - May 18 died very suddenly
