Apr. 15, 1851, p. 338:
If Mr. W. O. Warren will inform us at which "Jefferson" he wishes the Daguerreian Journal we shall be pleased to forward it.  The $3 inclosed [sic] for the subscription was received.  We could not by the post-mark or any other way determine which State.
May 15, 1851, p. 90:
W. W., Ind.-Found at last.  This Mr. W. sent us a letter saying "Why don't you send me the Daguerreian Journal: I sent you $3 seven weeks ago?"  Well, Mr. W., we acknowledge the receipt of the money, and by both of your letters (no credit to you however,) we are enabled to make out that you are West.  By your first, which contained your subscription, we learned the date and name of the town, "Jefferson," but that stamp used by the post-master was not inked enough to stamp the name of the state; but, fortunately for us as well as yourself, the stamp did its duty, on your last; we could make out the state, and that only, for this time you give neither town, county, nor state-you did think of the name-so you see, by comparing notes, we found you at last.
[I could not find a Jefferson on a 1993 atlas of Indiana.  From the 1866 Indianapolis City Directory list of Indiana post offices
is a listing of the town of Jefferson in Clinton Co.  The other possibility is that it was a typo and they meant Jeffersonville.]
