Crawfordsville Weekly Journal (Crawfordsville, Indiana), Friday, August 6, 1897, p. 9
"A Distressing Death." Long article about the drowning death of Thomas A. Stillwell, son of Mayor Stilwell. Died Sunday while bathing at Martin's dam. He was born in Covington on May 27, 1876, son of Mayor Stillwell by his first wife, a sister of the present Mrs. Stilwell. In 1881 came to Crawfordsville with parents.
