MADE A GREAT ACQUISITION. One of the Best Photographers In the West ! "i to Locate Here. South Bend has made a great acquisi tion in the person of Mr. Isaac DeVos, of Warsaw, who has made arrangements to go into; business here with Mr. D. C. Hogue, proprietor of the VanSickle & Hogue 'photograph studio, having dis posed of hia business in Warsaw, where he had f fitted up an elegant studio and was very successful. The Indicator, of Chicago, a paper published in the inter ests of 1 the ? photographic trade, says of Kim !: if ' I - "I. DeVos, of Warsaw, Ind., is one of the most successful photographers in the state. He seldom; goes to a convention that he does not! walk off with one or more prizes. At the Indiana state convention he was j honored 1 with three prizes, and every one was. highly pleased with the work he had on exhibition. He believea in keeping right up to the times in everything; - he, ia alwaysj studying to improve his work and please his patrons and that he might be in better shape to Serve them than ever, he recently fitted up an elegant studio on the second floor Of a corner block in Warsaw, and judging; from the reports' that have reached us the good people of Warsaw ought to bo proud of his new quarters, and also the man who has the ambition, enterprise and ability to thus establish himself in their town and show him their appreciation by a liberal patronage, as no doubt they will. They will travel a long way from home before they find his equal."j ; Mr. lie Vos is nj)W taking a vacation, but will be here Ajug. 12 to begin work. He is a married man and Mrs. De Vos is a charnjiing little lady of cultured taste who is; of great j assistance to her husband in the studio, particularly when taking pictures of ladies and children, Mr. De Vos haa no superior as as operator. Ije is not only artistic but painstaking and intent on making perfect pictures. A display of his work is now being made in! the wiudbws at the studio.
