JOSEPH P PAINTER- 70, a well known resident of Bellfontaine Ohio, died after illness of 1 year. Married Venona Dykes, daughter of William & Malissa Dykes; 2 childern, William S of Fort Worth Texas and Miss Vivian Painter at home. He was born near Muncoe Indiana on May 27, 1867, the son of William S and Hannah Painter. He learned photographic art in Muncie and was a photographer in Middletown for 12 years beofre going to Oihio where he had a studio, retiring 10 years ago. He was one of 8 children, all except one sister, Mrs Catherine Rawlings of Mucnie preceeded him in death-his brother Luther S Painter died last February. He was a member of Lutheran Church, burial at Cemetery in Middletown.

born: May 27, 1867 Delaware County Indiana, the son of William J Painter & Hannah S Painter. He married February 29, 1893 Henry County Indiana to VeNona Dykes, daughter of William & Mary M Dykes of Middletown. They moved to Bellfontaine Ohio. Joseph died June 6, 1937 Bellfontaine Ohio

Vivian Painter- October 5, 1895 - 1952
William Sewell Painter- April 27, 1897- May 1956

He was the grandson of Joseph & Rebecca"Peggy" (Miller) Coffman, Great Grandson of David & Susannah (Good) Kauffman all formerly of Rockingham County Virginia. And the Great Great Grandson of George & Rachel Miller

He was also the grandson of Phillip Painter and great grandson of Christain Painter & Mary Elizabeth Dailey, formerly of Timberville, Rockingham County Virginia.
