Marshall County Independent, Plymouth, 17 Mar. 1899, p. 1 - Picture Swindler Captured. Article about man who was canvasing Marshall county falsely representing himself to be working for E. Rotzien and selling a dozen cabinets and enlarged pictre, frame and easel all for $1.50. He collected all or part in advance and that would be the last of him. Rotzien notified the police. The fellow went south through Fulton county and was successfully operating his scheme stating he was the brother of photographer A. N. Donaldson of Logansport. He was caught at livery barn and charged with obtaining money under false pretenses. Made nearly $100 at the expense of the unsuspecting farmers. He registered at the Murdock as E. R.
