Come soon if you wish to be served by Xmas, as we are very busy. Copying and enlarging, family grouping, experts with children. Bring the babies. Swayne & Daughter, Photographers. The Brookville Democrat, 4 May 1899, p. 8 J. H. Giver her a call. The Brookville Democrat, 18 May 1899, p. 5 Photographing Children. We make an important point of the study of child nature. This forms one of the most pleasant branches of photography and is a business by itself. We cultivate the friendship of children brought to us for a sitting, put ourselves on their level, play with them. Anything to win their confidence and having thus rendered them docile and tractable the obtaining of a good negative is an easy matter. Child study is a matter of deep interest to the true artistic photographer. Respectfully, Swayne & Daughter. The Brookville Democrat, 9 Nov. 1899, p. 1 - Limited Time, Fleeting. This month we shall be busy for the A. M. Tucker Co., on commercial work. Holiday trade always doubles our work and the month of December will be a very busy one. Therefore, friends, to avoid the rush, come soon. A word to the wise is sufficient. Swayne & Daughter, Photographers. The Brookville Democrat (Brookville, Indiana), December 14, 1899, p. 4 Swayne & Daughter just received from the Varney Scenic Co., of Chicago, a new photo back ground representing a fine window scene. This back ground is no ordinary cheap daub, but such as is used in the best galleries of the country. For the new Celeron Panel, which has never been made I Franklin county; for the bride & groom; for the family group; for any full length photo, this new ground will be found especially pleasing. 12 aristo platino photos make twelve nice presents to your friends. The Brookville Democrat, 4 Oct. 1900, p. 1 Artistic Photography [Long ad defending photography as art and prices, probably in response to W. L. Evans' low prices, a new photographer in town] "If you don't want this or don't understand it and are not willing to pay a fair equivalent for natural qualifications and long training necessary to obtain such results, you will be likely to order your photos on the same basis as you would buy nails or potatoes. Don't be snared by so-called cheap rates, for it simply means a high price for photo stock; it certainly is not true portraiture. Swayne & Daughter, Photographers" The Brookville Democrat (Brookville, Indiana), December 6, 1900, p. 4 Swayne & Daughter offer latest oval photos, photo buttons, etc. The Brookville Democrat, 13 Dec. 1900, p. 4 A photographer to keep abreast of the times must keep everything new in the way of photo mounts and we have more than a dozen different styles to select from, in new ovals and oblong styles, which give beautiful effects, far superior to the old style of mounting. For $1.00 per dozen we make as nobby a little photo in oval as your eyes ever beheld and larger ones at proportionate rates. Photo buttons. Respectfully, Swayne & Daughter The Brookville Democrat, 7 Feb. 1901, p. 8 - We make a photo oval in form, artisto platino or mat surface paper, for $1.00 per doz., and use the Bancraft oval mounts, the finest in the United States. These photos are within the reach of everybody and pleases the most fatidious. Small favors thankfully received, larger in proportion. J. H.
