OriginalNotes: St. Louis & Canadian Photographer, Feb. 1895, p. 92 "Heir to $2,000,000" Elkhart, IN, Jan. 19, John Babbitt, 23 years old, who has been living here for several months and following the calling of a scenery photographer received a telegram last night notifying him of the death of an unmarried aunt in NYC who had bequeathed to him $2,000,000. Young babbitt is the nephew of B. T. Babbitt, the soap manufacturer.  The latter died a few years ago, leaving several millions to his unmarried sister, who, in turn, made young Babbitt her legatee.  Young Babbitt left for NY last night. He has been in straightened circumstances much of the time since coming here. His trunk, wearing apparel, and photographic outfit were recently attached by his landlady for an unpaid board bill.
