REAL QUIET: Felix Schanz, the Photographer, Married to Miss Mamie Schmoll
A marriage which up to the hour of its consummation was kept almost a secret, occurred last evening. The bride, miss Mamie Schmoll, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Schmoll, of 78 Force street. The groom, Mr. Felix Schanz, the photographer, is a young man well known in business and social circles. Miss Schmoll was a crayon artist in Mr. Schanz' studio for a long time and here it was that artful Cupic won the day. [Ceremony performed by Rev. J. H. Oechtering of St. Mary's Catholic church; elaborate reception given at the bride's home. The Euphonia double quarter, of which Schanz is a member, attended in a body.] The contracting parties are worthy and popular. The Sentinel joins with many friends in extending congratulations.

It is a picture of O. L. Perry and wife seated on their tandem bicycle, and both of them look as natural as life. Fort Wayne Sentinel, 1 Sept. 1890, p. 1 [article about the town's labor day parade and festivities] SCHANZ, THE PHOTOGRAPHER - Felix Schanz was loyal to the day, so far as decoration was concerned, but, like some others, he did not find an opportunity to have a wagon prepared. However, he kept his gallery and stuio open all day, and the public lost no chance to improve the time. His parlors were crowded and his cameras were focused for more than a hundred different negatives. His place was a veritable resort, being convenient as the throng passed each way on Calhoun street. Mr. Schanz is noted for turning out clearly-defined and natural photographs, finished in the highest style of art. Fort Wayne Sentinel, 24 Apr. 1896, p. 1 "King of the Forest." A Beautiful Picture Painted by Frederick Lembert. Messrs. Beadell & Co, proprietors of the People's Store, are always on the alert for something to please the public. This morning they placed on exhibition in their large east display window one of the greatest works of art ever produced in this city. It is a picture painted in the art studio of F. Schantz, at No 112 Calhoun street, for the Fort Wayne Lodge of Elks. The title of the picture is the "King of the Forest," and represents an almost life sized elk standing in a forest glade. The work is a copy of the picture by that greatest of living animal painters, Rosa Bonhuer, which was exhibited at the world's fair. The painting is 10 feet high by 7 feet wide and was execuated by Frederick Lembert, who has turned out a number of gems of art from Mr. Schantz's studio. Fort Wayne Sentinel, 11 Dec. 1900, p. 1: Orders for photos taken until a few days before Christmas. Extra help engaged to get out the work, so that no one will be disappointed. 7-11-14 Schanz's Studio. Such is the character of the Bas Relief photogaphs-the newest and the best in the photographic art-samples of which were shown to The Sentinel today by Mr. F. Schanz, Fort Wayn'e leading photographer, who is abreast of the times and always ready to give his patrons the latest and the best. The process is the invention of eastern parties and Mr. Schanz has the exclusive right to its use in this city. He takes the negative and sends the plates to the aprties who have the patents for the making of the photographs, which are uniquely mounted and elegant in the perfectness of their artistic merit. This new departure in photography will work a revolution and will certainly please those who desire to have something magnificent in the way of photos of themselves or their friends. Mr. Schanz has samples of this new work at his studio, 112 Calhoun street, and will take pleasure in showing to all callers.
